How many wineries can we visit in a day?
Typically 4 to 5 cellar doors in the Swan Valley, since the estates are close together and a half day comfortably covers the region. We help you plan the itinerary in advance so you are not rushed, but still make the most of the day.
Do you also do Margaret River?
Yes, Margaret River is now its own dedicated full day private tour with a Busselton Jetty stop included. It requires a full day due to the 3 hour drive each way, so it has its own itinerary and pricing, see Margaret River Private Tours under Other Services below.
Do wineries charge tasting fees?
Most cellar doors do charge a tasting fee, which typically ranges from $5 to $20 per person. The fee is often refunded or credited when you purchase a bottle. Larger estates like Sandalford and Houghton often offer complimentary tastings as part of their visitor experience. We keep up to date on current tasting fee structures at the wineries we visit regularly and will let you know what to expect at each stop before your tour day.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and snacks into the vehicle. We also offer a charcuterie and cheese add-on that can be pre-arranged and ready in the vehicle for the journey. Many of the Swan Valley estates have excellent on-site restaurants, and some require advance bookings, particularly on weekends. If you would like us to handle a lunch reservation as part of your tour planning, just let us know when you book.
What time do tours usually start?
Most clients prefer a 9:00 to 9:30am departure from the Perth CBD or their hotel, as this gives you the most time at the cellar doors before they start winding down in the afternoon. We can accommodate later departures, though we recommend confirming winery opening hours in advance if you are planning a midday or early afternoon start, as some smaller producers have restricted hours on certain days.
Can you provide transport for a Swan Valley wedding as well as a wine tour?
Yes. Several Swan Valley winery estates are also popular wedding venues, and Swan Chauffeur provides both wedding day transport and wine tour bookings in the same region.
